INTRODUCTORY SCOPED RIFLE MATCH

Match Summary:  Today’s match includes a sample of the type of stages typically included in Zouaves scoped rifle matches.  In this sample all firing is at 200 yards from variety of supported and unsupported positions.  IPSC targets with a special scoring scheme are used in all but the last stage.  Slings are allowed in all stages.  Front support is allowed as specified in the stage description. No benchrest style rests or tripods allowed. 

IPSC target scoring:  Each hit in upper A Zone ten points, lower A Zone eight points, B Zone six points, C Zone four points, D Zone two points, “no shoot” targets minus ten points.   

COURSE OF FIRE

Sighters – Five minutes for unlimited sighters, any position.

Stages 1a and 1b will be fired on the same target.

Stage 1a – Standing, unsupported – Five shots, five minutes.

Stage 1b – Standing, shooting stick support allowed – five shots, five minutes.

Stages 2a and 2b will be fired on the same target.

Stage 2a – Kneeling, unsupported – Five shots, five minutes.

Stage 2b – Kneeling, shooting stick support allowed – Five shots five minutes

Stages 3a and 3b will be fired on the same two overlapping targets, maximum five shots on each target.

Stage 3a – Sitting, unsupported – Five shots, five minutes.

Stage 3b – Sitting, shooting stick support allowed – Five shots, five minutes.

Stages 4a and 4b will be fired on the same target partially obscured by a “no shoot” target.

Stage 4a – Prone, unsupported – Five shots, five minutes.

Stage 4b – Prone, bipod, pack or range available sandbag front support allowed – Five shots, thirty seconds.  Shooters start in position with a maximum four rounds loaded and the rifle out of the shoulder.

Stage 5 – Prone, bipod, pack or range available front support allowed – Ten shots to achieve a maximum of two hits each of four different size circles, ten minutes. Four inch circle hits are five points each, three inch circle hits ten points each, two inch circle hits fifteen points each and one inch circle hits twenty points each.
