SCOPED RIFLE MATCH

8:30 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2010

One relay, maximum seventeen shooters

Reservations held until 8:30 AM, after that first come, space available.

 

Match Summary: Today’s match is a mix of slow and timed fire stages from supported and unsupported positions at IPSC, ITT, custom paper and steel targets. Stages 1 – 6 are at 200 yards, Stage 7 at unknown distances. Slings are allowed in all stages. Front support is limited to bipods, shooting sticks, packs or range available sandbags. No benchrest style rests or tripods allowed. Hand held sand sock/bean bag rear support allowed. No alibis.

 

IPSC target scoring: Each hit in upper A Zone ten points, lower A Zone eight points, B Zone six points, C Zone four points, D Zone two points, “no shoot” target minus ten points.

COURSE OF FIRE

Sighters – None

Stage 1 – Cold bore, IPSC target, front support allowed – two shots, two minutes, upper A zone only.

Stages 2a and 2b will be fired on the same IPSC target.

Stage 2a – Standing, front support allowed. Five shots, five minutes.

Stage 2b – Kneeling, front support allowed. Five shots, five minutes.

Stages 3a and 3b will be fired on the same IPSC target.

Stage 3a – Sitting, front support allowed. Five shots on a shoot target with an overlapping no shoot target, five minutes.

Stage 3b – Repeat Stage 3a, but with sling only support.

Stages 4a and 4b will be fired on the same IPSC target.

Stage 4a – Prone, weak shoulder, front support allowed. Two two shot strings from the weak shoulder on a partially obstructed target, five seconds each string. Shooters start in position loaded.

Stage 4b – Prone, surprise fire, front support allowed. Three two shot strings on a partially obstructed target, three seconds each string. Shooters start in position loaded. Shots are fired on signal without warning. The interval between the strings will not be announced and will vary from string to string.

Stage 5 – Prone, front support allowed. Two five shot, twenty second strings on a 600 yard reduced Infantry Trophy Team Match (“Rattle Battle”) target. Each hit ten points. Shooters start in position with four rounds loaded.

Stage 6 – Prone, front support allowed. Ten rounds to achieve one hit on shoot targets in a group including no shoot targets, ten minutes. Shoot targets are circles, no shoot targets are rectangles. Shoot target hits are ten points each, no shoot targets minus ten points each, misses are lost rounds. Shooters start in position.

Stage 7 – Barricade. Five shots, four minutes. This stage is fired one person at a time. The targets are steel plates. NO STEEL JACKET, STEEL CORE OR AP AMMO ALLOWED.

The COF is one shot from each of the four positions on the barricade. However, in the event of a miss the shooter may take a second shot from the same position before moving to the next position. The second shot may be taken only after the first miss. If there are no misses in the first four rounds the shooter may take the fifth shot at a separate bonus target. The shooter may take this shot from any position on the barricade that the shooter chooses. All hits are ten points except the bonus target which is twenty points.
